Accessibility Information – Park Hall

The house, having been built in 1912, is traditional in design. This may present some difficulties of access. We are however, sympathetic to the differing needs of individuals and are pleased to discuss any queries prospective guests may have. Below we have described the house and grounds in terms of potential challenges to access.

• The house is approached by a 200 yard drive and has a hard-surfaced parking area on two sides.

• The main access to the house is via three wide steps.

• The ground floor is all on one level with the exception of the kitchen which is on two levels separated by a single step. Space for movement is adequate.

• The toilet on the ground floor has reasonable space.

• The lounges, conservatory and hallway are carpeted, the lounges have moveable rugs. The kitchen, utility room, toilet and games room are quarry-tiled.

• Bedrooms are located on the first and second floors and are accessed by two flights of stairs to the first floor and a further two flights to the second floor.

• Including the stairs, the first and second floors and all bedrooms are fully carpeted.

• Seven of the eight bedrooms have en suite facilities. Space in these areas is, in general, insufficient for people using walking frames.

• The en suite facilities in the bedrooms on the first floor include 2 baths and 3 showers. On the second floor the bedrooms have a further bath and shower. The shower cubicles have a 20cm access step.

• Five bedrooms are located on the first floor - four have double beds, the other has 2 single beds.

• On the second floor there is a double bedroom and a room with 2 single beds and a bunk , both rooms have en suite facilities, one with bath and the other with a shower. Another room on this floor contains a full size bunk bed.

• A pay phone for outgoing calls only, is located in the main hallway. Signals for mobile phones are very poor.

• The main lawn and border can be accessed either through the main entrance, down three wide steps or the double doors from the conservatory, down three wide paved steps.

• There is a steep slope down to the lower lawn, the drive and the surrounding grounds.

• The grounds are of varied terrain and are steep in places. Beyond our boundary fence, along one side, there is a stream. Care needs to be taken with all non-swimmers.

• Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. An additional fee is payable.

• The nearest towns are New Quay (5 miles), Aberaeron (12 miles) and Cardigan (18 miles).

• The nearest railway stations are Aberystwyth and Carmarthen, both are approx. 30 miles or a 45 minute car journey away.

• There is no public bus service except during the high season (July and August) when a coastal rambler service runs twice daily from Aberaeron to Cardigan (18 miles).

Guest Comments

December 2019 - The whole family thoroughly enjoyed staying at Park Hall and have made a lot of happy special memories of our time together there. Clare and Andreas are great hosts, discrete but always available. Clare kindly took delivery of our online food and drink orders from Aldis and Tesco and they were in the house for our arrival The house is comfortable and spacious enough to accommodate our group of 20 (age range from 2 to 64 from all 4 corners of the UK and overseas.) Prior to our arrival the house had been beautifully decorated for Xmas and it felt so festive and welcoming . The kitchen was on the small size but very well equipped. However, there is plenty of additional food storage space, with a large pantry which has a freezer and fridge. Once orientated to where everything was we cooked Xmas meal and dinners with comparative ease. Everybody loved the games room. I discovered l do not have any innate pool or darts skills but it was fun learning. The house is big enough to find space if you need quiet time. The grounds are secluded and beautifully maintained . Location close to the sea and lovely coastal walks. All in all would highly recommend to others.
